Dylan Graham & Alet Pretorius

REVERB
11 May 2018 to 29 May 2018

Reverb is an abbreviation of the word reverberation and refers to an echo, pulsation or a continuing effect on a sound.  This exhibition is the third collaborative effort by photographer Alet Pretorius and painter Dylan Graham in which an original thought by one artist is intercepted and re-worked by the other to ensure a lasting reverberation.

Alet Pretorius is a freelance photographer specialising in photojournalism and art photography. She has extensive experience in photojournalism as she worked for a daily newspaper as a photographer and picture editor for thirteen years. Career highlights include the opportunity to travel into Africa and covering the death of icon Nelson Mandela.  Her photographs have been widely published and she has won several awards.

Dylan Graham received a degree in Fine Arts from Tshwane University of Technology in 2000.  His main medium is oil on canvas or wood.  Even though his paintings are predominantly figurative and representative, he likes to focus on the tactile and expressive qualities of paint, and has an interest in abstract ideas surrounding the act of painting.  He has had several solo exhibitions and been part of group exhibitions.
