An exhibition of ink on paper by Dylan Graham and sculpture by Johann Nortjé

4 September to 23 September 2015

Dylan Graham’s works deal with seemingly banal objects. However, they hide a much deeper meaning, revealing much more than the eye detects at a first glance.  His observation of these objects is unflinchingly clear and emphatic showing to us the ‘inner life of objects’ in such a way to impress on us that, finally, the world we know is mysteriously more than just the sum of its parts.

Johann Nortje’s sculptures bear the name of ‘Cognitive Dissonance’ and they also challenge our minds with conflicting information about ourselves and the world we know, thus creating a confusion of our previously held values, beliefs and ideas.  The skulls on the exhibition and the objects inserted into them, are metaphors of the human mind searching for clarity.

Both the works of Dylan and Johann are intellectually highly stimulating and would appeal to serious art lovers.
