ANIMALIA EX REBUS (Animals out of things)

Hannes Elsenbroek, currently a visual arts student at the University of Pretoria, prefers to work under the figurative tradition and has a deep love of and affinity with the works of the Old Masters.  He uses paint to subvert their technical approach into something fresh and contemporary.  With his exhibition, ΄Animalia ex Rebus΄, he aims to portray the human experience of various animals through painting.
