Rethinking Patriarchy
An exhibition of etchings, drypoints and monotypes by Derek Zietsman
24 July 2015 to 12 August 2015
Derek Zietsman has participated as artist and curator in a number of South African and overseas exhibitions.
Rethinking Patriarchy is an exhibition that essentially satirises the structures and processes behind patriarchal authority, such as religious dogma, political hypocrisy and objectification of women.
With his exhibition, Derek shows how visual texts can serve to reflect and comment on the changing roles of men and women in South African society and to expose a fragility in post-apartheid attitudes. An exhibition to thrill the discerning art lover.
