Small is beautiful
A retrospective exhibition of porcelain by Jerice Doeg
14 August 2015 to 2 September 2015
Jerice Doeg is an illuminator in our world of ceramic art. Starting in the 1970’s in Port Elizabeth where she was a founder member of Ceramics SA and currently its National President, she went on to win several awards and became a judge for ceramic exhibitions in South Africa, Namibia and Japan. Her work is in many private and public collections here and abroad.Â
She says: “There is an almost spiritual quality in centring a wet lump of clay on the potter’s wheel, slowly creating a form which will, through the drying, glazing and firing processes, become a vitrified ceramic piece.â€
Viewing her exquisite porcelain pieces in this coming exhibition promises to be a delight to the eye and mind.
