OUT OF THE FIRE, INTO THE LIGHT

An exhibition of contemporary South African Glass curated by Dr Ingram Anderson and Lothar BÃ¶ttcher

The participating artists are Lothar BÃ¶ttcher, Nelius Britz, Anva Chiazzari, Amanda de Wet, Barbara Ewing, Chonat Getz, Caitlin Greenberg, Nompumezo Gubevu, Rebecca Hayter, Mike Hyam, Martli Jansen van Rensburg, Liz Lacey, Abraham H le Roux, Klip Colab Jewellery (Nicki BÃ¶ttcher and Marina Louw), Zinziswa Mavuso, Tineke Meijer, Sue Meyer, Thabang Monoa, Rina Myburgh, Ngwenya Glass, Lorinda Pretorius, Maxi Pretorius, David Reade, Liesl Roos, Nicole Rowe, Wynand Troskie, Jeannette Unite, Tom van Hove, Marileen van Wyk and Retief van Wyk.

Out of the Fire, into the Light, the Pretoria Arts Associationâ€™s exhibition of contemporary South African glass art is an invitation to enter into the wondrous world of glass. Artists from across the country were invited to exhibit their recent works. Glass, over many centuries, is one of the most cherished forms of artistry and the coming exhibition promises to be a kaleidoscopic adventure to discover a feast of design, colour and light. In addition, to celebrate glass art, a series of lectures, talks and a walk-about is organised:
