Trespass - art & the heart

Trespass: art & the heart
an exhibition curated by Johan Conradie

4 to 26 February 2022

Coinciding with Saint Valentine’s Day, Trespass: art & the heart is a dialogue between works by several artists from different backgrounds and generations.  Exploring notions of romantic love, completeness, connection, boundaries and vulnerability, the exhibition explores love’s capacity to build or destroy, according to intensity and reciprocity.

‘Trespassing’ alludes to purposeful artistic journeys into intimate personal terrains.  With irony, humour, and spot-on commentary, the artists tackle diverse topics relating to personal identity and the commercialisation of courtly love.  By design, the works on this exhibition step bravely beyond defined boundaries and attempt to redraw our world view through shared exploration and dialogue
