Robert Paterson's "The Book of Goddesses" is a musical exploration of divine femininity, celebrating the strength, grace, and mystique of goddesses from various cultures and mythologies. With the flute's ethereal sound, the harp's enchanting resonance, and the rhythmic energy of percussion, Paterson's composition creates a sonic tapestry that pays homage to these legendary figures. Audiences can expect to be swept away on a journey through ancient tales and modern interpretations that will leave them spellbound.
Adding to the excitement of the day is the world premiere of "The Legend of Khanyisa and the Star People" by Andre Oosthuizen. This newly composed work draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of South African folklore and tells the captivating story of Khanyisa, a young girl who embarks on a cosmic adventure with the Star People. Through the mesmerizing sounds of the flute, harp, and percussion, Oosthuizen's composition takes the audience on a spellbinding voyage through the heart of Africa's oral traditions and folklore.
